Shake things up in the kitchen with Shichimi Togarashi!
Togarashi Shichimi, also known as Japanese 7 spice powder, is a Japanese blend of chillis, citrus peel, sesame seeds, dried ginger, Sichuan peppercorn and seaweed. The composition of the mix changes from blend to blend, but it commonly introduces a hint of heat, followed by sharp tang from the citrus peel and complexity from Sichuan peppercorn, seaweed and ginger. Yum!
Use this on top of steamed rice, sprinkled onto grilled meats or vegetables, in broths to add an extra level of complexity.
