Our story began in 2005, when Leonie Greenhalgh-Young founded the business as The Essential Ingredient Newcastle. Fast forward to 2022, we rebranded as The Hunter’s Pantry to reflect our independence and our commitment to ethical, sustainable, and traceable sourcing—only the good stuff makes it onto our shelves.

In June 2025, Wendy Briggs joined Leonie as a partner, bringing a big dose of flavour, energy, and deep culinary knowledge to the mix. Together, they continue to grow the business with heart, humour, and a shared love of exceptional food and thoughtful hospitality.

We’re proud to supply many of the Hunter’s top restaurants and cafés, but we’re just as proud of our loyal customers who come from far and wide to stock their pantries, refresh their kitchens, or simply chat cheese at the counter.
