These stunning handcrafted mills have been produced by a small family owned company in Thessaloniki in Northern Greece since the late 1970's. Derived from the design of a portable coffee mill given to Greek soldiers in the early 1900's, the grinding mechanism allows the user to change the coarseness of the grind, maximising aroma and fragrance of the pepper.
As these mills are made of brass and copper, oxidisation over time will occur. While the result is unpredictable due to variations in air moisture, the mill will develop an attractive patina over time.
