Andrew Cope makes wonderful ceramic products on his farm in Byawacka in Northeastern Victoria.  Organic pieces are hand made with white clay and have a matte white glaze.  They are as useful as they are beautiful.

The origin of the salt pig is reportedly from the Middle Ages in Scotland when 'pygg' was a type of earthenware.  The design of the salt pig allows for storage of salt which is easily accessed through the 'snout' or opening.
