Description
These chilli flakes, also known as the Issot Pepper or Urfa Biber, are native to the same region as Aleppo Pepper and are a dark purple to crimson red colour. They have longer lasting heat notes with less intensity than European chilli flakes, and a deep smokey and raisin-like sweetness. Urfa Chilli Flakes are a staple in Turkish cuisine and traditionally were partially sun-dried and then covered with cloth at night to 'sweat', preserving the natural oils in the skin and resulting in the deep burgundy colour.
