Description
The Meissermeister 1000/3000 Whetstone has been designed to for blade maintenance: 1000 grit to retain the blades edge, and 3000 grit to finish the sharpest of edges with a polish.
While they are spelt differently, a whetstone does need to be wet to be used. This isn't how the stone got its name, however; "to whet" something is to sharpen it.
There you go.
This doesn't stop the stone from needing to be wet however - the whetstone needs to be thoroughly soaked (a wholly wet whetstone).
