Date and time:

Saturday, 4th April 2025 10.00 am - 1.30pm

Location:
The Hunter's Pantry
Junction Fair Shopping Centre
200 Union Street The Junction, NSW 2291

Increase your knife skills, braising, and balancing, and step into the heart of French cuisine and learn to master the timeless dish—Coq au Vin!

In this hands-on class, you’ll discover the secrets to this hearty, flavourful classic. Tender chicken meets a rich red wine sauce brimming with aromatic herbs, mushrooms, and bacon.

You will learn how to break down a whole chicken. We will make a mirepoix, turn vegetables, and brine breasts (which you will also take home to cook).

From searing the chicken to perfecting the sauce, we’ll cover every step, guiding you through braising and balancing flavours like a true French chef.

We will cover how to select the perfect wine for your coq au vin (and no, the leftover bottle from a week ago doesn’t cut it).

You will enjoy the Coq au Vin prepared by our chef during the class. Then, you can take your creation home to continue marinating. With your new-found skills, you will be responsible for lunch the next day. We recommend you buy a beret.
